Sounds like a hell of a nice trip. Just out of curiousity, how do you like your D-max compared to the Cummins?? Was your Cummins a 12 or 24 valve??

Considering a Cummins: Hand calaulated. 5181.6 miles divided by 441.94 gallons = 11.724668 miles per gallon. I have compared to computer and the computer is very close. At ever fill up the computer gallons used is very close to what I can put in tank.
My 1999 Cummins was a 24 valve. The 24 valve came out 1998 1/2. Mine was rated 235 horse power because I had 5 speed manual. The auto was 215 horse power.
I wont knock the Cummins. It served me well for 10 years. I had one lift pump go bad and I lost 5th gear. I did like the 34 gallon fuel tank as compared to my 26 gallon I have now. Both were short beds.
I'll be 70 years old tomorrow and it was time to quit shifting gears. Love the Allison.

5400 mi on mine 11mpg. I have about a 1000 miles of towing in there. My best mpg so far has been driving about 60-62mph unloaded, i got 15mpg. The worst milage was a week after I bought it, I pulled a 41ft Cyclone 250mi to the Sturgis rally and it only averaged 7.1mpg hand calculated.

I drive mine like I stole it and get 14 miles per US gal on mixed driving and 18 highway. I have hand calculated and computer is real close. As far as comparing against a Cummins, I talk to drivers every week pulling trailers into the RV dealer I work at.
Most are Dodge but also Duramax and Powerstokes.
In the DPF engines, the Cummins and LMM get very close pulling the same sized units. Ford gets less.

I get 15 to 17 in town and 16-19 open road at 70-75. I had a 6.7 cummins and loved it but they are nowhere near figuring out the bluetec on it which is the reason i changed constantly in the shop. After exhaust delete i had no issues but couldn't afford to risk losing warranty.

I am getting about 15.4 hand calced. Mixture of highway and country driving. Would like to do a little better but can't bring myself to void the warranty.
