how far are you wanting to go with this thing?
the reason i ask is because if you delete your DPF and put a staight exhaust in it's place and add a PPE programmer you can gain up to 6-8MPG(i know of 2 LMM's like this)but it will void your warranty.other then that add a Programmer and a DPF back exhaust and that will get you roughly 2-3MPG gain..

I've heard some not so good things about deleting the diesel particulate filter (DPF). I'm interested in increasing fuel mileage as much as possible without voiding the warranty.
Right now I'm averaging 15.7, which is the same as I was averaging in the Avalanche I just stepped out of. Issue is, diesel fuel is $0.40 more/gallon. To get roughly the same out of pocket costs, I would need to get right at 18 mpg.
I put a K&N filter in it, but I've never really noticed much of anything from those. Does seem a little more responsive though, but it may just be in my head. MPG dropped from 15.7 to 15.6 shortly after install.

Everything I read says NOT to use the K&N filters. They let too much dirt in.
I'm using a PPE tunner and Stanadyne fuel addtive, I'm averaging 18 to 18.5 mpg. This is highway and town mileage.
On the highway I have seen it as high as 22.1 mpg but most of the time it's about 20 mpg. Around town I get 17 to 17.5 mpg. PPE tunned to level 1. Hope this helps.
