Does it log regen events or just the last regen. It would still have to be "regened" within the last 500 miles or so to pass warranty issues if that were the case, but you could reinstall the DPF and drive for 500 miles to create a regen. I don't know just thinking out loud.
I don't think it would help mileage much anyway because the computer is going to regen anyway, but maybe not.

I would never suggest that someone violate federal emission laws, but why wouldn't someone just rod the guts out of the DPF and re-install it?
Nothing inside to collect particles and cause a pressure change signaling a Re-Gen, the empty carcass is in place visually and all of the pieces of the exhaust are rusted the same from road travel.
No bucks spent on aftermarket pipes or tunes, nobody jackin’ with yer warranty and so on.

Gutting it will throw a CEL, You can overheat it and crack the filter material, it will let some of the soot through and still regen aproximatly every 450 miles and not throw a CEL
Not to mention that str8 piping your lmm aint gonna give you the mpg gains that some have reported. You will get 2 at best and that is with a good tuner. If your worried about warranty than LEAVE IT ALONE. If you want to transform your boring good running truck into a 3/4 ton muscle car then just straight pipe it, tune it with efi and look in the mirror at the big smile on your face every time you start it up.

3-4 mpg is average increase with a dpf delete and tune in...

Have an 2007.5 ran a stock tune with DPF delete (EFI Live) for 5,000 miles. I only saw a 1-2 MPG increase, not worth pulling that thing on and off every year for smog. What it did do is drop my EGT big time.
I'm not the only one that saw these results of only 1-2 MPG. There are some interesting threads on thedieselplace about this.

Even with some of Nick's EFI Live mild tunes I never saw more than 1-2 (hand calculated). There are big positives to removing the DPF but better MPG is not one. But this is only my opinion.

for the most part 95% of the people i talk to on here here have had at least a 3mpg increase with a dpf delete and tune...
i know nick has good tunes so maybe there were outlying factors but i still believe mpg to be a huge reason to ditch the dpf
