I am sorry but I really don't see much price diff between a Chev and GMC. See I am opposite than N0useforaname. I would rather get the loaded truck for few thousand more and I said a few thousand (look what he paid compared to what I paid) When I go to trade it in I will get more for my factory upgrades and he won't get squat for his aftermarket accessories. However, I am like n0useforaname in trying to tell the diff between the two trucks and that yes dealers hide extra profit in the accessories. However, if there comes a warranty issue and Chev says they are not going to pay for it because the aftermarket adds if the dealer put it on then they have to stand behind the cause of the failure of the vehicle.

I should of posted my other comment to this site instead of PM'ing dmwelljr so people could see what I said about dealer putting profits in other areas. It doesn't matter what the sell price is or what your trade is you need to look at the very bottom line. Sometimes people get so caught up in getting top dollar for their trade that they don't notice what the price of the truck they are buying is listed at. For example I could make you look like you are getting a $100,000.00 for your trade but what you didn't notice is that I charged you $175,000 for the new one.

Yea, a big fat Conga Rats from Australia...
And here, I will make you feel a lot better.....

Mine cost over $130,000 .....

But that is OK, the only second hand one in Oz, was a few years old and $85,000!! How come so much?
Well, shipping to Australia, a $.91 to U.S. Dollar, and the conversion here from left hand drive to right hand drive, new dash, new steering column, and the rest... Costs about $38,000 Aus $....

Guess I gotta love it to pay that money hey? Different rules here.. All things relative..

Congrats... Ranger

I respect your opinion, but $20,000.00 + is not a few thousand more...thats a new vehicle. And the lifts, wheels, nerf bars, stereos, etc....that dealers put in their trucks from factory.....are aftermarket accessories. Next time you get the chance, go to a dealership and look at the brand names on the upgrades...I guarantee they weren't made by GM. And if you buy a "souped up" truck with a special name from a dealer, only that dealership will warranty those aftermarket parts for you...unless that special name truck is sold at another local dealership.

Either way congrats on the new truck. And if it's what you want and what you like, no price is too high!

N0useforaname-

My point is I paid $44,000.00 for a LTZ Loaded Nav, DVD, Bose, I mean every thing and you paid 41,000.00... there is where I am getting the $3,000.00 diff!!!!! Now the truck that you were talking about the special Southern truck it definatley is not worth $20,000 more (you are correct) I think we had a little misunderstanding on the communication. By the way I know from 1st hand how dealers operate I was a General Manager of one for several years. I know all the tricks of the trade.

Please tell me all the tricks fo the trade.

I am still looking at a 2008 3500 4WD Crew. If the saleman would have had it his way I would have drove it off the lot today. Started out at $47,730, and down to $38,750 (at 1.9%) with them taking my old D@dge off my hands. Almost $1000 dollars in equity in the D@dge. I am thinking this is a pretty decent deal, but am waiting till Monday to see if they can do any better and to talk myself into it.

Anyone got any advice how to get it down lower?
