If its Brand new dont even look at the MSRP. Ask the dealer what the invoice price is and start from there. They want you to think invoice is what the paid for it. Its not its just another negotiating tool for them. They will sell it to you at invoice and still make plenty. Unless of course someone else is looking at it. Then they'll wait it out and see who's gonna give them the most. Oh I didnt mention I used to work at a stealership. Believe me the prices on new or used start stupid high.

I got my 2007 (Chevy though not GMC) new for invoice (see previous post for disclaimer) minus GMC $3,500 cash rebate.

Sticker was $45K + change and I paid $38K plus change.

The '08s were all on the lot, they only had two '07 left.

Hope this helps.

I have been the General Manager for a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealer for several yrs... well I use to be. I just bought my Chevy loaded LTZ, Nav, DVD, Sunroof, Cargo organizer, the only option that it does not have is folding mirrors. The sticker was $55,000 and I paid $44,000.00 straight up and then taxes, lic and regis. Chevy's have about $4,250.00 in rebate right now and then there is about $4,500.00 mark up on the truck so if they really want to make a deal they should drop another $4,000.00

By the way my truck qualified for the Fleet discount so that is why I had a $11,000.00 discount!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as a "Deal" when you buy brand new...only thing you get with new is peace of mind that noone else beat the crap out of it. And GMC's are alot more expensive than Chevy's and they are basically the same truck. My dad has a GMC and I have a Chevy, and I can't pick one difference between the trucks other than looks. You have to remember the salesman gets commission, and the dealership makes a profit, so you pay extra no matter what. And those trucks you are looking at, if they are the ones with lifts, wheels, tires, leather, etc.... then you are going to pay WAY over what it costs. You can buy a plain truck and do the same stuff to it for alot cheaper. But if I were you, I wouldn't pay any more than 42 or 43. I paid around 41,370 for mine brand new in 07...and that was with wheels, custom vent shades, chrome grill, SS nerf bars, etc... And they had a "Southern Comfort" model, same color and everything, only difference was leather, wheels, tires, and Bose Stereo. And it was 24,000 more than my truck. 24 grand for leather, wheels, tires, and Bose??? That's crap. Just be careful.
