The only reason i did it in stages is because they didnt have any way to clear check engine light when i did it. You do see little increase with just exhaust. If you want to do it in stages do tuner then exhuast. You dont need guages unless plan on running the 90 hp or higher and running the truck hard
For the guys running the 5" turbo backs- Is there any drone that your noticing while your cruising? I would love the 5" but I do a ton of highway driving and the drone would drive me nuts?( Had an 04 Hemi with a magnaflow si/so that would drone at cruising speeds and would always get a headache). Thanks for any help.

Are you wanting to run a muffler or not? Mine with the muffler has no drone at all. My 4" straight pipe system had some drone, but it wasn't that bad.

My MBRP 5" turbo-back has a slight drone and I noticed it at first because the stock exhaust was SOOO quiet. It didn't take me long to get used to it and I wouldn't go back because I want a diesel to sound like a diesel. I kept the MBRP flow-through muffler and added a Magnaflow 5" cat (Nevada smogs light diesel trucks and they visually inspect '06s for cats).

Dang garage, always thinking you can get there from a profile.
I must say, aside from being 4WD, diesel, 2500, bed cover, and exhaust, its basically my dads truck! Well, he has an 05 1500 5.3L but it looks near identical, except for the wheels.
You must have as much into that truck as what you paid for it!! Thanks for the pics !!!
Not quite, but mods so far add up to about one-third of what I paid for the truck. Most dramatic improvement overall was wheels & tires. With the puny stock wheels & tires I felt like I could have powered the truck into an out-of-control situation if I wasn't careful. With the Nittos & Centerlines (truck is not lifted) the improvement in handling was thermonuclear (my highest rating). I enjoy driving this truck as much as I enjoyed driving my Saab Turbo for 2 years in Top Speed Heaven (i.e., Germany).
