Air Intakes.... which one is the bes??

I have a 07.5 Sierra K2500. There are about a half a dozen different intake available but which one is the best? Oil or Oil-less? I know that the oil air filters screw up the gassers MAF sensor but I have no clue if it is the same for diesels.

People have their own opinions...all will pretty much do the same. Oil in large quantity like on the K&N will hurt the engine...but like on AirAid or the old AEM with just light oil, you'll be fine. People still like to use Oil Free like AEM or AFE but they don't filter as good and the cotton can break down. I like AirAid because they have the best customer service, best warranty and they have 3 layer cotton just like everyone else with a synthetic 4th layer on top to prevent the cotton from breaking down. Thats just my .02.

IMO I would just do the Kennedy diesel or PPE airbox mod. I spent the money on the AFE intake and it was not worth it. If I had to do it again I would just do the airbox mod.

I think the oil air filter is fine. IMO they'll catch more dirt than a dry filter.

I put a AFE on my dmax and was happy with it. Then I put a S&B on my PSD and I love it! It has the best price and quality than any other filter Ive seen. Well enginered. Good product. Id get one again

The best bang for the buck IMO is Modded OEM, the stock filter from what I've read is superior in filtering over many aftermarket oil/air filter. And unless your planning on over 500 HP you won't really benefit from aftermarket. Unless, your after the Bling factor. LOL.

One last note: the AFE SI for SIERRA NBS fit is not too good.
Check this pics.

I bought the afe and the kit was missing the hose clamps. After I buy the hose clamps I am then amazed by how much I paid for such a poor fitting product that uses cheap plastic duct work that looks no better than oem. Just my opinion but I feel like I wasted 375$

$375? OUCH!!! thats why I like AirAid...they are a hell of a lot more reasonably priced, and use better materials. All the studies I saw, they filtered better and had better Flow than Stock and most aftermarket companies. But I know a lot of guys running stock modded that are very happy, so its all whatever floats your boat...
