Lifting a 2008 GMC 3500 Dually

Hi I just sold my 3/4 and bought a 08 dually, I want to put a 6-8 inch lift on it, i want to stay away from the leveling kit, i put alot of miles on and don't like the angle's on the cv axles with the leveling kit. I have phoned around and keep getting different answears. One guy says they don't make a lift kit for a dually and never will and the next guy says the lift kit for the single wheel 3500 will work on the dually and the next company i phone say that they don't make a kit for a 3500 period. Has anyone lifted a dually with out the leveling kit and are the classic chassis the same as the nbs Thanks.

Nick does know his stuff...however, Any kit for the SRW will work on the dually...as long as its 4WD kit on a 4WD truck....Make sure its a quality kit and the Dually is heavy. Also make sure you buy Traction bars for that rear end or you will hate life!!! RIZE, Bulletproof, Fabtech, RCD, CST.....the only kits I would run and they all make traction bars to go with their kits...

I would run the Cognito Motorsport 7-9" lift that drops your center section a full 8" to keep the CV shafts a stock angle, and they have tons of extras for the lift kits. They also sell a 10-12" that I ran on my 03 and it was AWESOME with every extra, never had any trouble and was running 39" tires.

Make sure when doing a lift this big you upgrade all your steering components (IE: Tie Rods, Center Link, Idle & Steering Arm Support, and the Henderson Idler Body) Possibly upgrade Steering Box, Pump and Lines with AGR components.

Yeah the frames and suspensions are same between the new body and the classic, any 3/4 lift will work as far as the front end is concerned. My vote goes to either fabtech or cognito, and you will probably need at least a 2in. spacer for the back wheels. I would contact Norcal Nick for the specifics.

Yea you can use any 2500HD/3500 lift kit. The only difference you will see that the rear block size will be wrong on non dually trucks. Duallys have a taller rear spring pack so a shorter block will be needed to obtain a level stance. Other than that they are the same truck in suspension lifts. On the rear spacers, it will need to be a very skinny tire not to run spacers. Not sure what you might find. I have done a few dually's and all i used spacers for the rear tires.

In my eye's the Cognito brand has a ton of up-grades for these GM trucks and there lift kits are very nice. If you want more details on Cognito let me know.

Here is what I am running on my LMM dually: Cognito/ LMM Dually (pic's & spec's)

leveling kit

How many miles have you put on with your leveling kit, any problems with the cv axels, or vibrations? I pull a 30 foot enclosed trailer usually around 14,000 pounds loaded and were starting to have u joint problems with my u joints on the 3/4 ton with the 6 inch rancho lift with only 30,000 km's Just looking for the most reliable way to lift it and keep it working good for the weight i pull. I don't need to be the biggest truck out there, but they don't look as good stock! I was also toying with the idea of lowering it, but its not as good of an idea with the snow we get here. Thanks again for all the help, don't want to mess up my new truck!!
