| Programmer Question, PPE or EDGE Attitude Out of the edge attitude and ppe, which one should get the best fuel mileage and be the safest on the engine/transmission?
Which PPE programmer style is typically used?
Thanks |

| I would say PPE would be better for mileage and a bit safer. But you have to remember you are comparing apples and oranges. PPE is a tune that re-programs your computer. EDGE just piggybacks onto your computer and send a different signal out to the truck, which allows for on-the-fly power changing and a device that allows you to monitor EGTS, Boost, etc. With PPE you will need to buy at least a Boost and EGT guage and mount them in your truck. Plus if you are doing this, get an aftermarket exhaust to keet your EGT's down.

| I agree and disagree, i think both are good for mileage it depends alot on the driver and type of driving you do. PPE has more power, but they are both great units

| Thanks. I'm leaning towards the Edge Attitude because of the functionality of the controller. Just trying to do a little research first! |

| I know I am being lazy and should do a search, but can someone sum up if the Banks or the ppe is better? I have been told that the banks is the best because it monitors tranny temp, exhaust temp and so forth. I usually believe him but you guys are the ones that have installed and used these. I am looking to get one soon. Also do you have to start with a larger exhaust first to get better mileage? or will the programmer help just by itself? |

| To get the most out of your motor, three things need to be done.
1) open up your intake by a cold air or free airbox mod
2) programmer
3) 4" exhaust, preferably turbo back
You can do any one first, but the highest gains come from doing all 3. |

| its actually a down-pipe exhaust. The dmax dont go straight to the turbo. Its an exhaust that starts after the down-pipe and goes to the end of the truck.

| turbo back is from the downpipe back to the tailpipe.
cat back is from the catalytic converter to the tailpipe.
turbo back is louder, gives a few extra hp over catback, but lowers EGT considerably.
cat-back is legal, still gives good power, still lowers EGT, stock cat still a restriction. |
