Thumbs down LMM Reflash

Has anyone had bad experiance with the reflash. I had my work rig done last Friday. I pulled a Mini escavator 220 miles yesterday and averaged 8.5 mpg. I am LIVID i used to get at least 10 to 11 running 70-75. I pulled the thing at 65-70 hoping to get better but It got worse.I have almost 19,000 on the truck now and it just started getting better, now its worse

This isnt the first time I have heard this. My buddy has a LMM and after the computer was flash his mpg's dropped. The only thing I would have to say to get better millage is to get rid of the DPF.

Its a company truck so I do not have the power to do it. If it was mine it would have left about 19,000 miles ago. When I got the my LBZ I had it all of a week before it was chipped and exhausted.

Be patient, mine seems okay and mileage is good but I noticed it shifted different after the flash so maybe the tanny computer just needs to relearn.

Went in today to have my oil changed and the dealer told me the ecm needed to be updated. I'm assuming this is the reflash you guys are talking about. Anyway, I told them not to do it b/c i have read where so many people are having problems. What exactly does this reflash do? I know it reprograms the ecm, but what exactly is it modifying?

I am not sure what it did, I cannot feel any difference in power or shifting. The only difference I noticed was the 8.7 mpg towing 10,000 lbs at 70. I used to get at least 10 at 75-80. I think the truck is psyco it gets better mileage at higher speeds.

Do you get these numbers with a stock or performance tune?
When reflashed, does the ECM paramaters get changed?
Can EFILive solve this issue with the right tune?
Sorry for the thread jack

Be careful as the re-call notice said that the current configuration can cause damage to the ECM if left and the truck could die unexpectedly. From working with microprocessors, our company technical people figure that for this to be true, GM must have goofed and wrote the original program that saved over and over to one location and althought the processors are solid state, most claim to only be able to write to each location about 10,000,000 times before damage. If the program is written properly this is not an issue. Further to this discussion, when I got my flash done, my Edge Evolution did not work until Edge provided a new program. Their support dept. told me that GM went as far as changing to a complete new operating system and it caused many problems for the aftermarket programmmers as they had to completely redesign. The new flash has been good for me and now my Edge even works better as they had a few display glitches before.
