Do I need guages???

I am about to install my Quadzilla Stealth 2 tuner and MBRP 4" turboback exhaust on my LMM. I was reading the Quadzilla instructions and they said they suggest to install EGT and boost gauges. I was planning on running the 90hp setting. I do some pulling of horse trailers and a 30' enclosed.
Will my EGT's ever get that hot?

Thanks

Personally if i was going to tow on the 90 HP setting i would atleast get a Pyro guage. The EGTs can get pretty hot before you know it. Also i would maybe back it down a level for towing very heavy, to help save the tranny.

To read boost you will need to drill and tap your intake maifold.

And i would put theQuadzila in tow, and dependin how much weight is associated with your 30' trailor, i would do atleast a pyro.

The only way to know if you are safe is to install a pyro gauge pre turbo in the exhaust manifold. To be safe for now, put it in the 50 hp setting. If you are looking into gauges, check out the Edge Insight monitor. It is the best and easiest to install option we have found.

I would never install a programmer without an EGT guage. And also...if you don't have an aftermarket exhaust...you are whizzing in the wind. Get an exhaust, then guauges, then programmer...do it right the first time, so you don't have to re-build the truck a second time.

The tow tunes would be 50 or 70 depending on the load you are towing.

What can I all monitor with the Edge? Is it worth it or should I just a EGT guage? Do I have to drill anywhere else besides the exhaust?

the tow is 50 hp and i would not tow over that. You can monitor everything with the edge it is more expensive than mechanical gauges but it can monitor more. You dont drill the exhaust you drill the exhaust manifold and intake manifold if do mech. if do edge it does boost electronically.
