Transgo Jr shift kit worth it??

Is adding a Transgo Jr shift kit and deeper transmission pan really worth it? The deeper allison transmission pan, how much more does it extend beyond the stock pan? Thanks

I consider the transgo jr added security. It will help hold a little more hp, and let you work the truck a little harder. A deep pan is a catch 22 for some. It keeps the temps from getting up as fast, but it also takes them longer to cool down.

I just did both of these mods last week, and I think it was definitely worth it.
My temps don't get near as high and the shifts are much better.
The way I look at it, it is an inexpensive mod that could make your transmission last a little longer.

How much more does the deep pan extend beyond the original pan?

transGo Jr? Yes.. deep pan? ugh... maybe...

The JR kit is a exceptional value and instant performance. The deep pan will ass extra oil, but no real benefit. the hotter the oil and more if it, the longer to cool back off... its a glass half full debate.

I know plenty of trucks over 500HP with the "stock" pan, and they are doing just fine.

We can help with both... let me know. We have a great deal going on the JR kits right now...

The Transgo Jr. Will definitely help your trans. The pan is not necessary, but does look cool and add a few extra quarts to help keep it cool.

I just ordered a Transgo Jr. for $65.
B&M website Specials has B&M Deep Alum. Finned Pan for $50. It may not be as cool as Mag-Hytec but for $50 can't pass it up.

It doesn't stick down that much farther than the stock pan.
I don't know how much cooler it keeps it on the highway, but I'm about to take off on a 9 hour trip to Havasu, so I'll let you know Monday.

Point us to where you found these deals, if you don't mind!

I'd sure like to know who ruined the market on the JR kits for us vendors. We cant even buy the kits direct for that. Its bizarre to me that someone is selling the kits so cheap...
