SuperChip Tuner

I bought and installed a Superchip tuner a few weeks back in my 07 LMM CrewCab. At the same time I also put 20" wheels and new Toyo tires on my truck. I have a couple questions:

- Has anyone on this forum installed the Superchip tuner?

- If you have, were you able to access the diagnostic section on the tuner?

I ask because the instructions claim you can recalibrate the computer to new tires and wheels, which I would like to do so that my mpg, odometer, and other gauges are accurate.

- For those who have installed the Superchip, what kind of mileage have you gotten?

I've been running my tuner on the performance setting and boy is the truck fast. The computer says I'm getting averaging 14mpg, but I'm hesitant to believe that since I dont' have stock tires and wheels.

If you have a Superchip Tuner I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I have 0 experience with the superchips but i do know with any programer your DIC will read the wrong MPG wether your tire size is corrected or not! ITs because of the fact that the tuner changes the fueling Map that the ecm uses to calculate MPG!

good to know. I guess I will have to calculate by hand. Do you think the Fuel Consumption calculation is correct on the DIC after the installation of a tuner? I hope so...at least I could use that to help me easily calculate mileage on the highway or for any trip where I know the exact distance.

you can do it by hand but if your speedo is not corrected for big tires your caculation wont be 100% accurate! but after a tuner install you mpg read out in the truck will be wrong! unless u use stock power setting and just correct the speedo!
