I was just at the 4 wheel parts wholesaler thats just up the street from Banks. The guy there said the biggest reason for the change was that the PDA is still a PDA. It wasnt designed by Palm to withstand getting baked in the sun repeatedly. He said that often times the PDA would go bad within two years or so depending if the PDA got direct sunlight. The new system is designed with this in mind...though I'd probably have a bandanna handy to throw over the IQ to keep it out of direct sunlight.
I have the IQ and it is def a quality product. It offers a ton of information,m "on-the fly" power settings and is very easy to read. My only compliant at this time is the windshield mount. I find it to be rather "cheesy" looking. According to Banks Engineering, they are working on some different mounting options which will be available in the near future.

all the BANKS IQ is that banks probally wanted to make their own device instead of the palm PDA, also i think that they stoped making that model of palm. Banks probally figured it would be better to make a palm of their own. The thing that pised me off was that i ordered my sixgun with the PDA the day before the IQ went out. O well i really like the palm anyways....

I did the same thing and ordered mine before the IQ came out. I'm very pleased with it though. I will still get the IQ ASAP and probably save the PDA for my sister's truck. LOL!

Yes you have to drill and tap for the EGT probe pre turbo.
That sucks...
I hope this isn't just gauges. $1200+ for gauges is Ridiculous...
