Earlier on I told everyone one how I used to have an edge evo race and then I switched to the blackmaxx because of how the evo was messin up my tranny. I still have the blackmaxx but my truck has been in the shop for the last month and a half gettin the tranny fixed. First, they thought that the torque convertor and the clutch plates were the only thing wrong with the tranny. Well they fixed those two and they put the tranny back in and something was still wrong, so they pulled the tranny out again and began to tear it apart again. Once they had the tranny torn apart again, they noticed that almost everything was messed up in the tranny in a way. I talked to them on the phone about it and all the people at the dealership all knew I had the edge in it and the guy I was talkin to was tellin me that there was no way I could have done that much damage to that tranny in 3,000 miles even if I tried. He told me that the best thing for me is to stay the hell away from edge because he has an 09 also with evo, or used to have the evo, and his tranny messed up also last month and his truck was brand new also. He told me that this is their third 09 Dmax that they had to fix because of tranny problems and all three of them had the edge evo race in them. Now im not dissing edge at all but its kind of funny that all the 09 Dmax's that have been in the shop for tranny problems all had the Edge Evo Race!!! I really just wanted to post this since everyone said that it was all my fault for what happened to my truck and that I need to learn how to drive. I should have my truck back this weekend so I will still be doing the review on the H&S blackmaxx as soon as possible so be looking for that.

Well then again there is this never ending need for speed that ppl have so they keep crankin up there tuners...the evo RACE is going to be very hard on the tranny if you want it to hold up buy a milder box anything race is gonna make your tranny hate life the black maxx included and when it goes it will sometimes take the rest of the tranny with it...I don't think it was the edge just the fact they were tuned

If you are having that much trouble with the transmission @ the power levels you are running, Then while the trans is out & apart it would be a wise choice to go ahead & get the suncoast clutches & converter. Then you should not see any more of your current problems

I know i need to but im just going to wait for a lil longer since this is all covered under warranty but the highest i had the evo on was 3, let me repeat this, THE HIGHEST LEVEL I HAD MY EDGE ON WAS 3!!! bc most of the time I was pullin my lawn trailer. My bro has his ppe cranked up and his tranny still kicken stronger than every.

It is not really your fault. The Allison is very good tranny, but it just will not handle the extra horsepower and torque offered by most tuners...even on the low settings. I saw it first hand. Upgrade your torque converter and cluthes (C1 - C5) and you will not have any problems.
