spring time ideas

Well i just got off the phone with Tyler... ordered up my 52gal titan tank as well as a PPE lift pump and fuel pick up kit. i am looking for ideas for the spring time which should be the next time i have extra money to spend.

My goal is a nice 550ish HP number with ice cold EGT's for towing. so i think i need to make a trip to FL and have SCIV installed then all i need is a turbo and bigger intercooler and i should be set right?

I would say twins but the cost of the kits dose not match the quality of the kits IMHO for what you pay for these kits they should be a lot nicer, AN lines ect ect.

So what single charger would be best for me, or dose anyone know of anyone coming out with a procharger kit for our trucks because that would be super BA!

I mentioned my Garrett when we spoke on the phone, I am going to start testing it more very soon, and its a direct replacement. It will support 550 with ease.

Why would you go to FL for a trans. Forget the SCIV and go to Merchants in Michigan.
They dont install kits at Suncoast anyway, only whole trannies.

HTT or Industrial Injection gets my vote for the turbo. Way cheaper than Garrett to buy and rebuild.

Go to Fl and get a whole trans installed is what i meant... i always found its best to go to the source for things of this nature if at all possible and its always nice to go to FL ahaha.

Who really makes those turbos though? and i don't wanna rebuild anything i want to bolt on something that’s meant to go the distance just like the stocker only bigger.

I don't want a max effort tune in the truck because i will just end up breaking it.

keep the ideas coming it gives me more to think about and research!

Borg Warner makes them. Its basically an S300.

MPI's kits aren't quality? You must be talking about II. From what I've seen from MPI they are top notch. Also if your goal is 550hp but you don't want to go max effort and you want to tow then twins are the way to go. I haven't tried a single turbo away from the IHI so I couldn't help you much there, I've heard some of the S300's are nice though.

well that makes me feel better about that. no offence to HTT or anyone else but i feel the big companies with more R&D money can make a longer lasting part.

well i don't want to step on anyone’s toes but i have been doing custom turbo and supercharger installs for the past 5 years and IMHO none of the TT kits i have seen were worth anything.

first and imo biggest problem is the fact that the second turbo receives its oil from the first turbo as far as i can tell. that means that the heat sink (oil) from first turbo enters the second turbo super heated. that is a very bad idea imo.
