| Banks six-gun install? I'm installing the Banks Six-Gun on my truck this weekend and had a quick question. Are there any aftermarket senors that I should install with this kit to help monitor. Oh and any helpful tips that would make my install more painless or faster. Thanks for the help.

| As long as you got the power pda with the kit, it should have a pyrometer included. You can monitor more on the pda than you will ever want to know about. If you didn't get the pda then hold of your install and buy it. Its worth every penny.

| Sorry I didn't read your signature b-4 responding. I see u got the pda. I put my kit on with about 2500 miles on the truck and didn't see any improvement in mpg but now that i've towed my camper a few times and am aproaching 6000 miles, i'm finaly seeing pretty good mpg. From what I hear on this site, ppe is the best for mpg gains but the cost is almost the same as the banks but the banks has so many built in features like all the gauges you will ever need and most importantly to me, the ability to change power levels on the fly.

| You will have to install the thermocouple into the manifold, that is probably the most touchy part. Some mount it in exhaust right after turbo and do not seem to have any problems and it is safer, do not have to worry about metal shavings. The other fun part is getting the wires through the boot once you cut it. I pushed a piece of harwire through the slice first and then taped the wires to it and pulled them through. Other then that, it is a piece of cake. I run mine on 5 almost all the time, mpg was 3 to 4 mpg until I went to 285 tires and then it went down. Been thinking about going to 265 seems to improve some with them. Have fun and post if you have questions!

| Thanks for the feedback subparwelder, that's what I've been hearing but thought I'd check with some of the guys on here. That's the main reason I went with the banks was because of all the built-in safety features. By "seeing pretty good mpg", what kind of mileage are you seeing now?, and with your Magnaflow DPF back exhaust did you get anying change in exhaust tone?

| Knockout, thanks for the reply, I'm sure that the wire tip will come in handy during the install.

| I would recommend adding the BD exhaust manifold on the rightsde. It comes pre-drilled for the EGT probe, and it corrects the old manifolds restriction. I installed mine last weekend and it was very easy. The only tip they miss is using a stiff wire to help get the wires through the grommet in the fire wall.
I love the system. I have gained at least 2mpg since I added it.
Good luck and I am sur you will love it.

| I love my Banks system, but extra MPG wasn't something that jumped out on my truck. With my current setup, and living in PA which is pretty hilly and mostly city driving, I see 15.5 to 16.5 City. If I do ALL highway, I'll see 19-20. It isn't horrid, but without the system it would stay the same. And I also drive like a grandpa 95% of the time.

| Thanks again for all the input guys, it has really helped me out. I ordered the BD Perfomance Exhaust Manifold for my truck. I can see how much it will help me during install and maybe even some perfomance and lower EGT's. I'll post up after my install to let everyone know how it went. Thanks again for the help.

| I've had the Banks Six Gun with PDA in my 01 LB7 and I love the thing, you'll never need a diagnostic tool again, I'm also running the Banks Monster Dual 4" exhaust and I get roughly 25-28MPG on the highway and 18-20 in the city, make sure you run some dialectic grease around your 24 and 36 pin connectors, the banks stuff isnt weather proof and that will keep the moisture out |
