Which programmer

I'm looking to get something but I'm not sure that I want to remove the dpf and void the warranty just yet. What is the best tune and tuner for the best hp increase and mpg increase with the dpf?

PPE gets GREAT reviews, allows room for upgrades too!

You also have Edge, Banks, Quadzilla, Diablosport, BullyDog, Jet, SCT, Superchips.... I think thats all of em.

PPE, hands down a pricey unit that really works well.
I ran the PPE Race w/no DPF and was getting 14mpg pulling my 18k 5er. A really good tuner.

Quad is the best bang for the buck.-- cough .. cough .... ---
I was supposed to get my hands on a Quad to check on my truck but didn't get it. I have drove quad tuners and for the money they are not bad if you want to delete the DPF.

EFI is the gold of tuners/software
I am now running EFI and love it but I will say it's not for the general public if you don't want something that is time consuming. It's not as easy to just buy and download you need a lap top and a tuner to get you your tunes that you are looking for. But if you have the time to play with it check out duramaxtuner.com I feel he has made it as simple as it can get for now.

Nick, what level do you run your PPE on while pulling your 5er, and do you have any tranny mods?

Sorry ... level 1 or 2 and not easy on the pedel. If I need to pass I PASS !!

No tranny mod's currently. My 5er is a WW3905 (40') so I have a pretty good wall above my cab

I hear ya! I pull a 24' enclosed on level 2 and cut it no slack and get around 11 mpg. I want to do the egr blocker and the dpf delete soon, then maybe I can get 14 mpg like you. I'd really love to pull on level 3, but my tranny would hate me.

I wouldn't say that they are the exact same thing, but they are very similar. I have heard some great reveiws for the ATS they are just not known as well as the PPE as far as tuners go.

It all really depends what you want to achieve in the end with your mods with tuners. Not everyone has the money to just drop on a package but if you stick to a plan and start buying parts to best complete what you want in the end it will be worth it.
