destructive Lmm fan shroud

the top bolt on my fan shroud fell out when i was towing 10k and hit my fan ruining it, it then happened to my friend a couple weeks later on his lmm, check your bolts, has this happened to anyone else?

no i have a delete and programmer so i haven't took it in yet, i think it might be easier to buy a new fan than to switch all the parts, it still works but all the edges are worn off so i haven,t driven it since

If you saved your stock exhaust put it back on and put the tuner back to stock. Then take it in. They should in reality fix it regardless since neither the programmer nor the exhaust caused that to happen.

Its true, the Magnuson-Moss warranty act says that if a failure happened unrelated to mods performed on a vehicle, they cannot deny your warranty claim.

BUT, knowing dealers, they will probably say something like "the added power from your programmer and upgraded exhaust caused extreme vibration in the engine compartment which forced the bolts loose and caused them to destroy your fan. Claim DENIED".

Cuz, they are good for a BS story like that!

yeah i have the stock exhaust and could put it back on, i need to look in to see how much the new fan blades are before i take the time to do it, i could take it in and get them to fix it the way it is, but then if/when something major happens they will know about my mods and i will be screwed, my buddy got his fixed today so i am waiting to see the price of the part
