I have been looking for a tuner for my new LMM. I have ran the Edge unit on my old 03 LBZ and am currently running one on my wifes 03 Suburban with an 05 LLY and have been happy with both. I have heard it makes it regen to much making for not much better performance and worse economy. Does any one have recommendations on the LMM edge tuner?
The Edge Evo is a great programmer with a ton of features. The problem with it like most other programmers, is it has a tendency to clog up the DPF quicker causing more frequent regens. My suggestion to anyone getting it or any other programmer for that matter, is to keep it in the lower settings and drive normal.
I would do a Banks chip if wanting to keep the DPF it has clean tune technology and will not produce more than stock tuning. Or do a dpf delete. Let me know if have any questions i have a LMM also and deleted my DPF and would never change a thing.

^^--No point in putting a programmer on an LMM or higher unless you delete the DFP...and even better, the CAT's too. If I had one, it would be the first thing I did...More power, better mileage, why not? And if you're wondering why it's there...go ask someone who has their D!(K stuck in a tree.

I have an 07 with the LMM and I just installed the Edge programmer Juice w/ attitude. I have seen on here where everyone is talking about deleting the DPF. I'm new to the diesel world so what is this and why would it help my performance? Also does it harm the truck in any way? I don't mind doing some mods but I don't want to go to crazy. Plus I have to wait for the tree to regrow some money. Thanks
Deleting the DPF will help every aspect of the truck, mileage power. It helps becuase it eliminates all restrictions. To do it you put a turbo back exhaust on and use a tuner that can clear the CEL. PPE or Quadzilla if you have any questions, let me know.

Basically, your exhaust fumes are currently being cycled through 2 Cats and then hit a DFP.....once it hits the DFP, it revs real high, gets it nice and hot, burns all the soot up, then releases. Basically they are trying to make exhaust fumes more environment friendly. But while doing this, it raises your EGT's in your truck, gives you less power, worse gas mileage, etc. So you go buy a turbo back exhaust...(one big straight pipe)...you can add a muffler if you want....and eliminate all that emissions crap. Then you get a tuner that can shut the DFP, CAT codes off, and you are good to go. It's not cheap to do...but worth it. Look at it this way....when they sold LSD (low sulfer diesel), you could average about 2MPG better than what you are getting now with ULSD (ultra low sulfer diesel). The more environment friendly the diesel gets, the more power and MPG you see go down. I just dread the day that they start selling SUMLSD (super mega ultra low sulfer diesel)....
