MBRP 5" or 4"???

First of all guys i have to apologize cause I'm kind of a newb at this.

Was wonder why most people go with the 4" instead of the 5". Is there clearance problems with the 5?

Also I was wondering what exactly the DPF was, and if this exhaust deletes it.

Thanks for any help!

well most people go with a 4 first because there are more option and they are cheaper. also unless your looking at trying to build really big number in the future a 5 inch is a waste. also the DPF is the diesel partical filter. only the lmm engine has it if that is waht you have. you will have to get the dpf delete kit if you want to get rid of that.

The 5inch is not needed and you gain nothing with it unless you are planning on BIG hp. 500+. The DPF is the Diesel Particulate Filter or a soot catcher. With it the truck goes into regain. mode witch burns the soot out of the filter and causes the truck to get crappy fuel mileage not to mention that you have to replace the filter once it plugs. The DPF delete is done by replacing the exhaust and getting a programmer such as PPE, Quadzilla or EFI live that turns the DPF off in the comp. this also is increasing the fuel mileage by leaps and bounds.

Thanks a lot guys, appreciate it. So If I were to order a 4" MBRP and Quadzilla Tuner, which I was planning on, I would get rid of the DPF? Do I have to ask for a DPF delete kit with it?

Just post up what you want in the vendor price request section and one of them can hook you up.
