Hello duramax people! Please help.

Hello duramax family!

I am new the truck/duramax world so bear with me...

2016 2500 duramax
7inch lift
20" rims 37 tires
Everything else stock.

I am currently getting about 12mpg, what can I do to get more mpg?
Also I plan on getting a intanke and exhaust for it in the next few weeks, will I need a tune for this?

Thank you and have a great day.

If the speedo was never recalibrated for the larger tires, your mileage will appear pretty poor.

Not by much. My LMM only went from 14 to 15 in town.

Is that according to the dash for hand calculated?

What's the best bang for your buck as for tunning these days?

I just ordered a k'n intake for it today... plan on running a custom 5"straight pipe from turbo back.

I would keep the intake stock. Dmax doesn't like the oiled K&N filters, or at least the MAF sensors tend to fail when oil gets on them from the filter. Plus the stock unit filters better and flows good enough up to 500hp. Will need tuning once you ditch the exhaust though.
