| allison upgrades.
so, i've arguably done something stupid. I don't think so, but you may disagree, i have a 2007.5 chevy crew cab with the lmm and the allison six speed. well, i put a 14" lift on it and now i'm running 40 inch tire with no other mods whatsoever. i expected to have to re gear, and i hear i need to upgrade the torque invertor and flywheel. thing is, my rpm's are normal, the truck still accelerates nicely, and my trans temp has yet to rise above 124 degrees. so, do i really need to make any more upgrades, i know each upgrade has a benefit, and i understand that i have added alot of rotating weight and framatically altered the final drive ratio, but i see no bad effects like i was anticipating, so again, what should i upgrade and why? |
