in most cases yes...the EGTs usually get higher when you "lug" the engine. Usually when you get a higher boost pressure it lower the EGTs. The only way to really know is to install a boost guage. Athough, I don't think you would have anything to worry about with the truck in stock form. The EGTs shouldn't get high enough to do any damage to the engine unless you were going to try to pull that hill in 6th gear, but I don't even think it would hold 6th all the way up the hill. Personally, I would just lock out 6th gear and just drive it up the hill....but that's just me.
