How to remove fan guard

Thinking of removing the fan guard for the next time I change my belt. Any pointers on how to remove it? Is it two pieces or one?

Its one piece and your truck will run hotter with it removed.
There are 3 13mm bolts holding it. 1 is on top of the core support, the other 2 are down on each side of the block.

I have heard of a lot of guys removing it. It will run hotter as in too hot and could harm the engine? Or just a few degrees hotter . I might not remove it now

What year is your truck? The fan shroud on my lb7 is two piece. 4 10mm bolts across the top and the little plastic push plugs on the sides. Remove all them and move the big black plastic ecm box outa the way and the top half comes right out easy as pie. Had mine off this weekend to hose out my cooling stack.

No I'm talking about the fan guard, not the shroud. 07 lbz. The lb7 doesn't have one
