| ABS System? Hey guys. Sometimes, driving down the road my ABS and Park Light will come on. Trying to diagnose, looked for bare wires etc. No codes being thrown just the lights while moving down the road. Sometimes while warming up in the morning. My question is, what components does the ABS system consist of and how to they work together? I know there are two speed sensors connected to the front wheels, but thats about it. Thanks guys. |

| The only problem I've ever had with fluid was and oil leak and a new banjo fitting fixed it. I'm wondering what components make up the ABS system where is the control module etc |

| Master cylinder, brake control module with pump motor ( under drivers seat area along frame rail), front wheel speed sensors (integrated into the front wheel bearing assemblies) and a speed sensor on the output shaft of the transmission. You may also want to check the big maxi fuse in the underhood fuse box. I believe it's either a 40 or 60 amp fuse. If that blew then it would throw both the ABS light and the red brake light on. I've personally only seen both lights come on for 1 of 2 reasons... 1.Blown maxi fuse under hood, which typically but not always means you have a bad module or pump motor Or 2. Low brake fluid Sent from my iPhone using my iPhone

| Codes should be thrown. Most obd scanners won't read abs or airbag codes. Wife's tahoe would light the abs and brake warnings together. GM tech manual says when an abs fault is detected both lights will come on. Low fluid should only light the brake warning. Hopefully its just a wheel speed sensor.

| I get these codes to and they only started coming on once I adjusted my tire size with my ppe programmer. I think what's happening is that when u calibrate for tire size to make your speedo correct, the signal from the wheel sensors are getting a different reading from the speed sensor in the transmission, which will cause the ABS and brake light to come on. Never had a problem till I corrected my tire size. I was told that with a tech 2 you can reprogram the ABS system after you adjust tire size so the lights don't come on, but have yet to find someone that knows how to do it.
