Unladen weight

Does anybody know the unladen weight of a 2001-2002 2500hd Dura 4x4 ext cab short bed? I live in NY and in order to register it with passenger plates it has to be less than 5500 pounds. I was wondering if anybody could read what chevy declares it off their reg or title? Is there any website that might show the correct info? I know on a scale it will be well over. I am looking to buy a used one but have to be able to get passenger plates. I live off a parkway. Anybody out their from NY have this problem?

i also live in new york long island the worst of dmv restrictions but my unladen weight is 7500 and i have a crew cab short bed i have comm plates because the dealer wouldent reg it as pass but if you have a cap you can get pass plates. although i had a full cap the dealer still wouldent reg it as pass but good luck to ya.

so if i tell the dmv i have a cap i can get passenger plates? the truck weight on the registration says that much.

you might have to show them a receipt so go to a place that sells them but a 50 dollar deposit on one bam you have a receipt them once you get the plates go get your refund back thats what my friend did with his dually and it worked in ny
