Driving without Exhuast for 2 Days??

I have an 03 Duramax and I am currently getting some work done to my muffler. Can I drive the truck without the exhuast cat back for a couple days without creating problems with the engine etc. I know its loud but I can deal with that. Will the lack of back pressure hurt the engine in anyway?

Please let me know. Thanks

The only thing you will have to worry about is noise. Where does the exhause come out right now. Heat may be a small issue.

You had a stock truck and did it with no tuning and it isnt a problem? No heat problems or anything?

I did it with mine and ran it straight behind the cab with no cat for about 2 months and it started to not start and would stall at low rpm's, so I replaced the injectors, changed the fuel filter a bunch of times, got new fuel lines, and still nothing. I had to get an inspection sticker so I had to put the muffler back on and as soon as I did it started up. The only thing I could think of was the exaust valves were staying open when I shut it off and there wasn't enough back pressure to close them? not really sure but it's fixed now.

I agree, My 03 has not had a muffler or anything like that for a while. I ran it straight piped from the start witho0ut a tuner or any other mods and was fine.
