Hello; Can Anyone speak to the topic of possible aftermarket combo alarm/ remote starter systems for my 2007 Sierra 2500 HD Classic with 6 speed Allison?
I drew a blank with the search function here and neither Clifford's or Viper's websites had any mention as to whether or not any of their products were for diesel applications. Course I could have missed something as my eyes are ready to fall out from all the time I've spent online today researching various topics/products.
Any info/suggestions/reviews/etc. would be most appreciated.
I have the compustar 2-way alarm/remote start on my duramax its has like a 12 sec timer before it starts to let the glow plugs do there thing and i havent had any problems with it other than the horn the the alarm stopped working

clifford and viper should work fine. i install carroll shelbys line. shelby autosecurity. cs450 cs650 and the two way cs750, almost identical to the autopage line. all models i mentioned have a wait to start wire or you can program them for diesel wait to start times of 1o,15, or 20 seconds and they also have a programmable turbo timer cool down feature.

i have installed them for 4 years and have them in all of my own vehicles. they are almost identical to AUTOPAGE. right down to the wire colors. if you are looking for an alarm remote start combo you could use the one way 650 or the two way 750. if you send me a pm i could get you more info and and maybe work on a price deal. but as durramax kid said that he would be with the viper, which are made by dei, those are great units also. pretty much everything made by dei. is top quality. just your preference and which features you want.

Viper, clifford, and most of the other ones are owned by directed electronics and are basically the same thing. Directed electronics (directed.com) owns nearly all the remote starter/alarm systems around. Almost all of them can be installed on a diesel with a competent installer. They can wire it up to the "wait to start" light and then it will start after that. Some installers just go with the 5 or 10 second timer delay. Mine is wired to the wait to start light. I have a clifford and I can add the alarm to it at a later time if I wanted to.

Ya know I went with the Clarion SR6000, and I love it. The two way remote is the only way to go. It has like a 1/2 mile range, it even tells you the interior temp of the vehicle on the key fob, along with some other crazy (actually useless) features. As with ob_1 mine was also wired to the wait to start light. If I were you I would really look into this kit. Here is a link Clarion U.S.A. | SR6000

Anyone have any knowledge of this place --- autoalarmpro.com. I found them in my web wanderings. I like the fact that the systems are prewired in a vehicle-specific configuration and come with step-by-step instructions. Should save a lot of time and checking and possibly hairpulling. Not that I'm too intimidated of installing one of these myself as I used to install fairly elaborate car audio systems, albeit 25 or so years ago.
Never heard of these Code Alarm brand of systems. USA made. Specs and features/performance seem to be right up there with the rest of the best known manufacturers. Wonder if DEI makes this stuff as well?
