I just picked up my 2008 Duramax 2500HD Crew Cab last week. I got the LTZ package. I love everything about the truck accept the wood trim on the dash. Does anyone know of a good after market trim kit I can replace these pieces with? Maybe a brushed aluminum color or something. I don't really want to get one of those kits that just cover it up with a sticker.

So the silver dash kit from a 2008 Tahoe will replace all the wood pieces in my 2008 Duramax Crew Cab? Even the door pieces that are wood?
Yes sir, there are 2 kits one has 27 pieces and the other has 13. (I may be off on the exact numbers) but they will snap right in place of the wood trim. The one with 27 pieces actually adds silver to the steering wheel and around your cup holders as well. I actually bought the kit from a place on the internet called wooddashkits.com or something like that but their stuff was junk and sent it right back.

Do you actually have to order each piece from the dealer or does someone sell it as a kit? Is this what you did in your truck and if so do you have some pics you could send me? Thanks.
Check out this place I found that takes the OEM dash trim pieces and puts a new finish on them using the same process the factory does. They done some pretty nice custom dash finishes. Here is the web site.
I am actually in the same boat, love the truck HATE the wood. My buddy who is a custom truck designer is gonna take my trim, sand it down, and paint ALL my wood pieces the same color as my truck. All for $400.

I found out the the 2008 Tahoe dash is the same and comes in the brushed aluminum trim. I have ordered all the brushed aluminum pieces from the 2008 Tahoe and I am going to replace all the wood pieces with them.

How much was that Kit ? Where did you order from ? Do you have a part # ? For a Crew Cab ?
Still might go that route

I ordered them through the local dealer. They are selling all the dash pieces I need for $320. They are giving me a discount since I bought the truck from them. I think the regular price was around $400. I do not know the part numbers. Your local dealer can look them up for you. Just tell them you are looking to trade out all the wood dash pieces in your Silverado with the brushed aluminum pieces from a Tahoe. You will also need the pieces that go around the air vents even though they are not the wood look they will not match the brushed aluminum pieces from the Tahoe. If you goto Official Chevrolet Site | 2008 Cars, SUV's, and Trucks | Chevy you can find some pretty good pictures of the 2008 Tahoe with the brushed aluminum dash trim. Looks sweet compared to the wood look in our trucks!
