I've isolated a coolant leak on my truck. Looks like the crimp from the soft line, to the hard line on one of the returns looks like it has gone bad.
Check out the picture, I'd like some opinions on how to fix it, and where I can get the parts... or who could do the work. I'm just outside of Atlanta, GA.
Thats a trans leak...HR552 said it...very common problem and should be warrantied by GM. There was definately a bulletin put out on this, at least I was told of one. Mine were replaced at 19k.

I hope not, but who knows. They know that its a real common problem but they're not wanting to spend any money right now for sure! I know for sure that I read on here that many were being replaced under either a bulletin or a warranty recall. But if you have to do it yourself, its an easy fix. Just have to release the clips and pull the line out of the fitting. The hardest part will be figuring how to wiggle it out from under the truck. Shouldnt be bad at all.

I deal with excavators on a daily basis, and change out hyd. fluid lines all the dang time. I could probably do this myself, but I'd need to know part numbers for etc. etc.
I think I'll call the dealership tomorrow to see if they can help me out... otherwise, I'm gonna need some help from you guys. Thanks for everything so far.
Condition
Some customers may comment on a transmission fluid leak. This concern will be more prevalent in extreme cold climates.
Further inspection may find that the leak is coming from one of the transmission cooler lines at the hose to steel line crimp.
Correction
If the under vehicle inspection reveals transmission fluid leaking from one of the cooler lines, replace the affected cooler line. New transmission cooler lines have been released to address this concern. These new lines have been manufactured with an updated crimp process to better withstand the cold temperatures. Refer to SI for the replacement procedures.

Update: Called 3 dealerships... including the one that the company uses for all of our fleet trucks... and they've all told me the same thing. Just because a TSB has been released, doesnt mean it can be fixed under the "sorry ass excuse for a" warranty blanket.
So, I was able to get a hold of Harley from Georgia Diesel, and I think he'll be helping me get this problem solved the right way. Looking forward to it as I am headed back home to MD for the holidays, on top of Steelheading in PA, and Huntin' in WV. I've got some driving to do!
I'll keep ya'll posted on the outcome. Thanks for all the info!
