Trailer wiring, two questions.

Rear 7 pin was not hot from the factory. Searched and found thread about installing fuse. Worked great. Also read about trailer wiring between bed and the cab. I found this also.
1) The wires were bundled, but wouldn't come down. I'm guessing its already run to the factory installed 7 pin on the bumper? Or, is the wiring for something else? I figure if its bundled, maybe its not installed?
2) Hot wire now works with the fuse installed, but is still hot when the key is off. If I pull the fuse, its not hot, so I know its the right one. Any way to make this wire key on hot only? I have a truck camper and plug in the camper before I fully lower it into the bed. Thus, I'd have to lower legs and unhook the camper tie downs just to pull the plug. What a pain since I often don't unload my truck camper. I don't want dead batteries when I camp for several days.

the only thing that it would do is if you hooked something direct to it that would be on my camper never runs down my batteries. But with it hot than you can run the lights inside.

1: is for a secondary plug you wanted to install like a gooseneck plug. That bundle has the same wires as teh rear plug.

Where is that thread about installing the 7pin fuse. Is the fuse under the hood or dash?

The fuse goes under the hood but some duel battery rigs does not take the extra fuse according to my owners book.

Fuse is normally a square fuse that sets in the distribution box under the hood. Normally they come from the factory with the fuse taped to the brake controller harness in the glove box. GM does not set theirs up to shut off with key (Ford does, I don't know about Dodge). These vehicles usually have the low battery protection so power should be shut off to accessories if you use too much juice before it looses too much to start.
