Front end noise

My name is Robert Gray I am new abviously but I have a questions. I have read about the front end noises and have checked out my front end. I know the wheel bearing are loose. First question, are these sealed bearing or can I repack them myself or do they have to be pressed out and back in. Second the side to side motion is kind of excessive in my opion. I used to be a Toyota tech but this seems to be very loose. From what I can tell its coming from the idler and pitman arms but couldn't really tell without removing the skid plates. Does Chevy have problems with the power steering "rack" or could it be the Idler and pitman arms. And if so can I do this myself. Thank you for your help

Welcome to the forum!

The front wheel bearings have to be replaced with the whole hub assembley. Those are VERY common to go bad. Also, the steering rack seldom has problems. Chances are its the pitman arm or idler arm.

I had similiar problems, the sound and side to side motion, I replaced the whole sterring assembly. fixed everything. I also used to be a pipeliner and my truck has seen over 150,000 miles pulling pipe and no major issues.
