Rear Seat Won't Fold Down

The driver side rear seat will not release so I can lay it down.

Is there anyway to get the seat clip to release? I need to get it down so I can install my storage tray behind the seat.

The back will fold down! You have to fold the bottom portion up (towards the front of truck) and then pull on the back rest and it will lay down!

The '99-'07 bottom seat folded forward and the back folds down to make a platform.

My '01 the driver side seat will not fold forward. I can pull and pull on the latch cord that comes through between the bottom and the back and it will not release.

Is the only way to fix it to somehow unbolt the bottom seat from the floor?

Sounds like something is stuck. It should just come right up and swing forward.

See if you can use a mirror and a shop light and see what up underneath the seat.

There is a cable that releases it that is attached to bottom part of seat so when it folds it pulls cable so back seat can lay down

That cable may have become detached from the seat bottom. When the seat bottom is swung up and forward, a cable pulls a latch that releases the seatback. That cable may have be disconnected.
