LMM UFO Replacement Exhaust Tip ?

Who makes a stainless cover or replacement tip that still allows the factory air cooling flow - any company?

yeah, but don't you have to buy their system for it to work? I don't know if there are direct stock replacements, but the DPF back systems will have a new tip with them and I believe most of them exit closer to the original exit of the older trucks instead of straight out the back.

Holey Toledo Bat-Man …. now that's a tip………

Rolling Big Power

That plus a muffler delete pipe and I am in fad city from the filter back. I am aware of the filter back Magnaflow and MBRP pipes, but I want to keep the stock exit location - better aimed out the garage door for early morning warm-ups.

Looks like you would be cutting off most of the factory tip because you can see there it is clamp on.

If you want to save some money and have a better looking tip, do what I did yesterday.
The stock tip can be polished with Mothers Billet or Aluminum polish. I started with the polish ball and went to hand rubbing for the finish. It looks a whole lot better and only took about 30 minutes. I will go back and keep touching it up after a few days and it will get brighter with time. It doesn't look so cheap now.

Two reasons GM put the pipe where it is.

1. Ford put theirs on the side and the paint started to blister if parked in regen.

2. At +1400 degrees in regen you could burn your garage down if too close to the wood wall.

I know this is alittle off topic, but how does the regen work? I'm glad I don't have that on mine, I feel sorry for the LMM owners.

Regen is the cleaning process of the ceramic particulate trap. About every tankful extra diesel is injected into the DPR and the temp goes up to +1400 degrees to burn the deposits of the ceramic filter. Regen lasts about 10 minutes, however I have never seen or felt it come on in 8200 Mi. No big deal!

One thing the DPR does, is the exhaust never smells bad like a diesel without DPR does. I actually like it. Hey we got to watch out for Global Warming, however it seems to miss us up here in Manitoba it was -33F two days ago.
