2007.5 Radio question

I have a 2007.5 Chevy 2500HD and the radio does not have XM but does seem to be XM ready. When I hit the cat button it says this feature is only for XM. Does anyone know how I can get sirius on this head unit. Does anyone know what the model number is of this radio. Thanks

If you want sirius....you will probably have to buy one of those little boxes that comes with serius and mount it in your truck. Those stereo's come XM ready...not sirius...unless some company came out with a converter which I've never heard of. But I haven't looked very hard either. When did it get to the point where we have to pay for radio??? hahaha.

only way to see what model it is, is either pull the radio or get the part # off a tech 2 with a candi module in other words a dealer. pretty sure if your radio is xm compatible gm makes a xm kit to add to your vehicle. talk to gm might actually be somewhat resonable.
