New front bumper effect air bag sensor ?

Would a after market bumper like a "buck stop" bumper effect the air bags. Where is the air bag sensor on the truck?

Thanks Fish

The last aftermarket bumper I did was on a 96 F150, and I was told that the airbags wouldn't work the same as stock. I don't remember if that meant they would deploy early because the bumper doesn't crush, or if they would require higher impacts to deploy. At the time I was young and drove alone and didn't care, so I really don't remember.

On my 07 classic i put a ARB bumper on after i hit my boss in the a$$ at 35 mph and my airbags did not deploy. ARB bumpers do not effect the airbags. I thank road armor or ARB look the best so i went with ARB couse of price and it looks awsome

Thumbs up Airbag Sensors

Most of the aftermarket bumpers like Iron Bull Bumpers, Fab Fours Bumpers, and Buckstop are Airbag sensor compatible. You should have no issues with them

ARB Bumper

The ARB Bumper that i installed on my 07 classic GMC is air bag compatible. but i thank as thick as the bumper is it will take alot harder hit to set off the air bags.

The sensors are in the frame, as well as one in on the radiator support and there's another one too, the reason fo all four in the front and four in the back are for the multi stage airbags now...the low speed impact sensors are the ones in the frame...they will take a little harder impact to go off than a factory bumper...however the high speed impact sensors are not affected by the bumpers...you have no need to worry.
