remote start question

i have looked for the answer a little but figured it would be easier to just ask.
I bought a 09 dmax from a private party and was wondering about the remote start.
Im not sure if my truck has the option in it but was wondering if there is a simple way to find out. The remote i have has a extra button but not sure if that is remote start or not and not possitive on how to program it.
Would really appreciate any responses since it is starting to get cold.. even had snow on the ground this morning

If you have the extra button you should have the electric start. Just hit the lock button twice on the remote this wakes the computer up, and then hold the top button or the one button with the circle on it for about 6 seconds it should start up then. it will run for about ten minutes or so then shut off.

I have the factory remote start on my 07.5 Sierra. Does anybody know how to get it to run for more than 10 minutes?

It gets pretty cold here, and 10 minutes isn't long enough.

If u push the lock button twice and hear it beep again then just hold down the start button again and it will run for 15 min.
