Help with wheel sizes sorry

For some reason i can't seem to figure this out on my own today but im not exactly on point, its one of those days and I dont give a $h!t ha. Anyawy my buddy at work here as his 2007.5 LMM CCSB. No lift no nothing not even a touch on the t-bars. He put some 18x9 KMC rockstars on her when he got it and they do look good. Anyway he ended up with a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/60-18's. They are BALD as hell and thats no good. He lets his wife drive it normally cause he has a long drive to work and keeps miles off it. Also maintly to keep her and the kids safe driving. He has plans to go on a family trip with it and going down to George or Florida I dont know. Long story short (too late I know) but:

What other tires should I look for because those Nitto's are the only brand who make that tire that I find. He needs something good for rain and just daily driving. If there is somethign else you think tirewise I can suggest or look up please let me know. I vote BF all-terrains cause I love them but. Some anyone let it roll.

Worst thing I have to do is get a tad taller tire and i'll help him turning the bars up a bit to clear something, he doesn't want to go much wit them but he has had these rubbing the whole time anyway with wheel cranked so I could talk him into getting a turn or two.

I would roll with the gut instinct. BFG AT is a great tire all around.

Hankook ATM RF10, I have 17k on mine and are wearing great. And for less then $900 shipped to the door from Discount Tire Direct they are pretty cheap as well. I have yet to run them in the winter yet as I put them on in March so the snow was already gone.

i just put Cooper Discoverer ATR 285/70/17 on stock rims and standard mount and they rub when turning to lock, even with bars being cranked a bit, hoping to find a better level/lift to avoid rubbing soon. BTW, had ATR's on two other trucks and been VERY happy with them in the white stuff
