Bed mounted auxillary fuel tank?

Does anyone have experience adding an aux fuel tank to the new generation truck?

Looking at the TransferFlow tank/toolbox combo:

I want to put a camper top on the bed. Has anyone seen a good way to fill the tank with the top mounted? I was thinking about cutting a hole in the top and mounting a Jeep fuel door cup assembly with filler tube going to the tank, so you could just fill the aux tank without much trouble. Does anyone make a kit like that, or am I on my own?

The replacement plus size fuel tanks are interesting as well, but TransferFlow is making them 45 gal and up, and they extend below the frame by a few inches. I do not like the lower than the frame part. I would be happy with 35 gallons and a flush tank.

I haven't personally done it, but I think transfer flow has a kit for a filler to be added on like you are talking about but I don't know if that will work with the one you are looking at pictured.

They have some units with the filler neck outside of the tool box lid.

I am going to call TF.

If you are planning on putting a camper shell on your truck, why not look at a replacement fuel tank. Transfer Flow and Titian have replacement tanks that increase the capacity to 45 - 55 gallons for a shortbed truck. I am currently debating weather or not to install one on my truck.

A person may want to look at the combo tank/too; box at Portable Generators, Pressure Washers, Heaters, Hand + Power Tools | Northern Tool + Equipment
They seem to have a better price.

The LMM has an issue when u refill during a drive...will set a code. You have to shut off vehicle...has to do with thr regen part. Never sees the tank level go down.

I have a titan tank in place of my stock tank. 55 gallons can get me over 1,000 miles if I am running without a load.

I have a 50 gal RDS I purchased used, with the Northern Hydraulic filler neck. I love it. It is under the tonneu cover and easy to fill. I just dont use the toolbox. It hasnt set a code, but occasionally the fuel gauge will go to empty if I dont shut the petcock off.
I have a 2007.5 LMM Crew Cab Shorty. Quadzilla tuner MBRP 4" no dpf. mileage up about 3.5 since delete. nice to have the extra fuel capacity. I drive 100m a day.
