What is kinda low? My 08 only has 1800 miles and I do alot of around town driving and it gets about 13-14 mpg, on the hwy about 19.5 mpg. I was told it will get better with more miles, but since I've already switched to Amsoil synthetic oil it may take mine even longer.

From talking to my friends tht know a lot more about trucks than me...They say putting in a cold air intake and a new exhaust will improve MPG. Anybody tried these or have any knowledge in this department?

the dpf is the diesel particulate filter. It is in the exhaust system on the 07.5 and 08 trucks. The "classic" 07's dont have it. It catches all the soot (black smoke) so that it doesn't go into the atmosphere. It restricts the exhaust flow a ton, and most people that take it off get a couple extra mpg's. You also will have to get a tuner that will get rid of the codes and fools the computer to make it run right.

The exhaust will help, but IMO the intake won't show any gains really.
