Well as you guys know I got the 08 GMC CC and I notice the fuel Miles is still kinda low, will at improve.I drive about 40-50 miles oneway eachday,And I dont excell hard on takeoff. When I got it it only had 170 miles on it, now 1100 miles.
What is kinda low? My 08 only has 1800 miles and I do alot of around town driving and it gets about 13-14 mpg, on the hwy about 19.5 mpg. I was told it will get better with more miles, but since I've already switched to Amsoil synthetic oil it may take mine even longer.

From talking to my friends tht know a lot more about trucks than me...They say putting in a cold air intake and a new exhaust will improve MPG. Anybody tried these or have any knowledge in this department?
cold air intake get rid of the dpf converter get an exhaust system from an 06 or 07 classic duramax it will all bolt right up and a programmer and you will get mid 20's easy

I keep hearing dpf converter. What is that? I am not much of a mechanic and I am new to diesel...actually picking my first one up tomorrow from the dealer 07 chevy DMax Crewcab 4X4. I am pretty excited.

the dpf is the diesel particulate filter. It is in the exhaust system on the 07.5 and 08 trucks. The "classic" 07's dont have it. It catches all the soot (black smoke) so that it doesn't go into the atmosphere. It restricts the exhaust flow a ton, and most people that take it off get a couple extra mpg's. You also will have to get a tuner that will get rid of the codes and fools the computer to make it run right.
ppe xcellorator hot et 2 eliminator will eliminate that code
magnaflow or mbrp are what i would look at... and alot of people are running the same intake i got its just about the best bang for the buck
