radio removal?

anyone figure out how to take off the radio coverplate? I'm getting behind the edges and pulling a bit, but feels like it'll break!!! Going to install an 8" sub under the narrow rear folding seat, need to access the stereo.

Are you using the stock stereo? I put subs under my seat and used the stock Bose head unit. All I did was buy a converter box that had RCA hookups and run them into the rear speaker wires. Its real easy and sounds just as good as a aftermarket and RCA to the rear.

To answer your question. There's some clips but if you pull on it slowy one side at a time you should be fine.

Also if you have any other questions just ask.

Yeah, going to stick with the stock bose head unit, it sounds great, and don't want to invite any potential thieves. I found an interface on ebay specific to the '07.5, just worried about that cover, thanks for the reply, I'll try more tomorrow in the daylight!

If where talking about the same thing the easiest thing to do is tap into the rear speakers near the speakers. Im not sure if you have a CC, or ext cab but you definatly have rear speakers. If your trying to wire the converter then just pop the rear plastic off. That way you dont have to but 10+feet of RCA and try to run them. Plus the wires arent easily marked.

Is this like what your lookin at?
LN60 - Car Audio/Stereo - Car Audio/Stereo Accessories - Legacy Car Audio - Legacy High Level to RCA Line Converter

I tapped into the speaker wire in the pillar between the two doors in my CC. Then ran speaker wire to the little converter under the rear seat.

No, not quite, I've got the new body style and the seats fold up differently, and the adaptor I've purchased has the correct plugs to tap into the back of the head unit, it'll be a bit more of a pain running the rca's, but it does provide two sets. Your set-up looks awesome! I've just got to dig into mine more, it'll work out, just can't wait to get the better sound!

How does everything fit in the rear seat? Is it nice and snug? I know in my old gasser(extended cab), I had a 12 inch sub in the back under the seat and the seat wouldn't lock all the way down. Think you could show me some other pics? I like the set-up.

Hey, the box fits perfect! I had to remove a bar and thats it. Sometimes the little passenger rear seat has problems latching and you have to jump on it. But, when it does you dont even know the box is there. I put 2 10's in mine. They made it kind of close but I think when I bought the box the guy said it would fit 2 12in subs.

hmm, yeah having troubles getting pictures on here...not so computer savy just yet...the interface is from pac. accesory corp., Welcome to Pacific Accessory Corporation The box I'm using is quite a bit smaller, it a q-logic with an 8" Infinity sub, I'm just adding a fosgate 100A amp, this set'up fit nicely under my '95 yukon rear seat, the box fits perfectly under the smaller fold-up seat in the rear... I'll figure out the photo thing and post some...

Sounds like a good setup!

To use the photobucket for posting pictures. If you go under your accound there are 4 options for each picture. The bottom one should be IMG code. Copy that then paste it in the thread.
