my dad has an extang on his half ton'er and it has held up to about anything he could throw at it, i have a Fold-A-Cover hard aluminum locking cover that was on my truck when i bought it, i put it on in the winter because i love to snowboard and it makes a great way to dry and securly store mine and friends gear in the bed, and i can fold it up to still get almost anything in the bed, you may wanna give them a look

good luck

I had a soft cover on one of the first trucks I owned, had problems with rain/snow acumulating on it and pulling the center down. It also wasn't the most secure way to keep gear int he bed, all it did was hide it from prying eyes.

On my last truck I had a Roll-n-Lock cover. It was one of the orginal ones with bare metal slats (I believe the current ones have a fabric cover over the metal). It worked great for security, however when it rained and you opened it, there would be a small rain shower under the cover. If it rained and then froze, the cover wouldn't open. I also had to be careful where I parked because leaves and other debris would get into the box it rolled into and plug the drains.

On my current truck I have a Fold-a Cover and it is working great. When it ices over, it is easily cleared. I have yet to find water leakage. It also is compatible with the bed management system in the 07.5+ trucks. The best thing I like is I can open it from the front or the back depending upon what I am trying to get to.

I hope this helps,

John K

Listen to Naterik.....those fold-a-covers are amazing. Easy on and off, not a pain to deal with.....and they lock like a trunk. I bought a stupid full hard cover....I love it...but it's a pain in the butt to take on and off. They showed a little girl picking it up over her head saying it was extremely light...she was like 9. I weigh 180, and can bench 325 and it throws me all over the place...I can't do it by myself. As for soft covers, my father has one....and let me say...he hates it, it's not secure, and it's a pain to get snapped on if the weather is too hot or cold.
