You might want to mention to the dealer that with the rear tires at 80lbs, the tires are inflated to their maximum rated capacity, 6000lbs. If you loaded your truck so that there was 6000lbs on the rear tires, and if you have the 4x4 diesel, there is about 4200 lbs over the front tires. That is a total of 10200lbs, the truck would be overloaded by 1000 lbs.
GM is aware of this issue, and the rear tire pressure should be set to something less, like 66psi. That would be a tire pressure that would allow 5000lbs over the rear axle. This would give a payload capacity of roughly 2600lbs.
If you had a non-diesel, you would have a higher payload capacity, and need higher tire pressures at maximum payload capacity.
These numbers I am using are estimates, but they are probably pretty close.
Seems like when I had the tires ALL set on 58, the light turned off eventually when they warmed up. I think I will just put the tires back at 58 and say **ck it !!

I believe that there is a 20% (could be 25) tolerance in the TPMS, so a rear tire pressure above 64psi should not turn on the light, and a front above 48psi should be OK. That is for the stock 245/75/16 E tires.
I think it would on the highway but probably not around town.

Guys in your owners manual it should tell you how to reset and reprogram the tire monitors. On my 07 Trailblazer SS I had to do the same thing..I glanced in the book and BAM there were the instructions. Once you do the learn sequence the computer will learn what ever pressure you are saying is ok. It was also the same with my vette! Might want to check your book!
I know they can change it. I have 35x12.50 on an 18" wheel and they rest mine to 60. My light never comes on and I keep around 55 in.

When I had my 35" tires put on, I went to the dealership and had them drop my tire pressure sensors to go off at < 40 psi. On cold mornings they start out @ 37 psi and the light goes off after they warm up to 40 psi.
