just a quick question for everyone. I've recently just replace a front wheel hub and an idler arm and a pitman arm on my truck to the tune of over 1200 bucks. Now I was wondering the other day how a person would be able to tell if there is a leveling kit installed in ones truck ( I bought my truck used) or if someone just cranked the torsion bars up instead. The reason I'm wondering is if cranking the torsion bars up is causing extra stress on everything else, if there's no proper leveling kit would it be better to put alift kit on instead? any questions or comments are appreciated. thanks

From what Iv read cranking the bars or replacing the keys to level the truck will put more srtess on the front end parts. The only one that Iv read about that dosnt is the Cognito. It replaces a arms. They also have heavy duty front end replacment parts. When mine go thats what Ill replace them with

FWIW, the idler and pitman arms go out pretty quick in these trucks. I had mine changed at 27,000 miles and when I took my truck back in at about 45,000 the dealer said they were bad again...I have the support kit on for the idler/pitman arms. Wheel hubs go out about every 60,000-70,000 miles depending on your driving habits....even in stock form. GM built these "HD" trucks with LD parts in my opinion. I guess that's what we get for the nice ride of IFS. Now, don't get me started on ball joints.....

thanks for the info guys! yeah I'm looking at either a 3" cognito kit or maybe if my wife will let me the 7" to 9" with deaver leaf springs in the back but that won't happen for awhile I just bought a canopy for the truck so need to start saving for a bit. I just hope nothing else wears out, I guess if it does time to use aftermarket parts.

thanks for the input i think that's the leveling kit I'm going to put on, but I just bought a canopy for my truck so I think I'm gonna have to wait for abit unless I can convince my wife to let me get the leveling kit. I'll try to post some pics of my rig now that I have my topper on. Cheers.
