Swapping bench for bucket seats & console

I couldn't seem to find anything on this when I was searching. I have an '08 2500 with the LT1 trim package and am beginning to regret not going with the LT2 in terms of not having bucket seats or a center console to speak of.

I'm sure its prohibitively expensive, but does anyone know if it is possible just to replace the bench seat with two bucket seats and a console? ...And if so, are there wiring harnesses already under the carpet for power seat controls or is that something that would need to be wired-in from scratch?

And as a back-up, I'm wondering if I could leave the 40/40 portion of the bench seats, just remove the middle "20" bench seat/folding console and replace it with a stand-alone OEM center console.

Any help is appreciated!

Well lucky for you I think the new body style trucks make this easier to do than the previous ones since chevy no longer puts armrests on the front seats. What I would do is just leave the seats in and remove the center fold down bench. Then just find a used console out of 07' and up chevy or GMC LT2 in the junk yard and bolt it in. As to the power seats I am not sure if the harness is already their or if you might have to wire the new seats up.

try schram they are in Mi, but they do ship. They dismantle new gm vehicles this place is huge. When I had my cargo van had to replace front seat(400,000 miles) got both seats for 200. I would suggest calling, their search engine is horrible.

hey I was wondering did you ever get the center console yet and if so where did you get it I am looking into doing the same thing.

I still haven't swapped the seat for the console. I can't really afford it right now. A local GM dealer quoted me $1216 for the console or $912 if I trade in the seat after I take it out. (He said you've got to remove the driver & passenger seats in order to get the middle seat/console out.) He recommended that I check various junk yards for a console from a wrecked '08. I will probably do that- I'm sure there are a few of them floating around, and I can't pay even $900 for a stupid console. Nonetheless I think the console will be a lot better than the bench seat!

Check the link I left in my other reply, I called them a few months ago to find an interior for my friend. He has a crew cab work truck with the vynal interior. They quoted me 600 for the full interior, front and back.

Wow- in that case it probably wouldn't be much at all for just the console. I did check out their website but i guess I need to call them- as you suggested.

The console I want is on Ebay right now for $235 but I want a black one and the auction is for a gray one. I'll give Schram a call tomorrow.
