My suggestion in this case, is to first figure out how many amps you have added to the truck, and then see if you can get that in one alternator. They make 300amp alternators. Adding another battery wont make much of a difference, as its the alternator your going off of when the vehicle is running.

As for the high idle, that can always be added in. BD Engine sells a kit for a hair over $20.

i dont know what alt i do have but its not the upgraded one it the std one that come with the motor. and i remembed seeing on the built sheet that you can get a double alt. can i just add that second one or no? or would it just be better to just put a bigger one in place of the factory?

noticed you had a short bed in your signature. When did they start making the 3500 in a short bed?

Just went to the Chevy website and whether you choose standard, extended or crew cab, all of them come with a 97.6 inch bed (8 foot). It could have been a typo on Mr. Terry's part.

Mrterry how do you like your Trophy lite? i am assumeing the HD is your chase rig? i know on my LMM that there is a high idle factory option. my truck don't have it but if your truck is a 3500 work truck with a pto i bet it does. look in the owners manle under pto. i think you get to it through the dic.

P.S. if your wondering why i know what a Trophy lite is when i live in PA its becasue i used to be a so-cal desert rat but i just could not adjust to the life style out there. but i love desert racing!!
