Next generation Chevy/GMC rumors?

Ok so I was planning on buying a new truck late this summer/early fall. Now today a buddy of mine has a friend of his that works up in Michigan at Chevrolet that claims he's been workin on the next gen Silverado and that I should for sure wait. Said he's got a 2010 that he doesn't love as much as he should due to the excitement of this new one. Anyone heard any rumors, facts, or more about the next gen of trucks? When they'll be? Specs? I mean I don't wanna wait forever to get a new truck!

And I'm not sure if this was the appropriate place to post this thread, just curious if anyone knew anything.

Yeah for some reason I'm thinking I heard the next Duramax will be a 6.9 also. And from the spy photos I seen on Car and Driver's website (I think that's where) they don't look much different body wise.

All the reports I have seen on GM's next gen truck is that it will be launched as a 2014 model in the 1500 series followed by the HD's the following year (2015). So yes well get a peak at what the 1/2 tons will look like probably later this year but you wont see a new body style HD until 2015 model year. Given the amount of significant powertrain changes that were made to the 2011 HD's I suspect many of the changes on the new HD trucks will be cosmetic and not powertrain related. Additionally there is talk that the CHevy and GMC versions of the trucks will be much different looking both inside and out. Not just minor sheetmetal and grill changes...

Yeah the spy photos I saw didn't look to have much of an exterior appearance change. I figured it's mostly an interior upgrade since that's what gets harped on about the most.
