clutch fan

Is anyone else noticing their clutch fan engaging alot even when cold? I hardly ever heard it on my LLY but this one it is coming on all the time, when I first start it, just driving 35 mph on cool days, in the drive through etc., wonder if my LLY was not right or if this is abnormal/normal on the LML

VERY normal. It happens to me when it's warm outside but the truck has been sitting overnight. Has something to do with the oil in the clutch assembly. Nothing you can do about it. Now if it stays on after driving it for 5 minutes then there may be something else going on. But as the fluid warms up the fan will slow down to normal. I love the sound Sounds like a jet engine spooling up for take off

It being on in the morning helps the truck warm up also.

Mine comes on alot too. Doesn't matter if its cold or hot outside. Even comes on when its warming up sometimes. Its always when at idle. Once it starts it doesn't stop until you start accelerating. I also am wondering if this is normal.

The fan is electricaly operated, driven via a hub off engine, fan will be commanded to come on during warm up to add load to engine ,further assisting quicker warm ups. Unless fan is on all the time ,or never, you are fine.
