I understand they can blame a leaking axle seal on the lift/cv angles but to say powertrain warranty void is a little much

I'm going to do it myself $50 for the seal and $65 for some Amsoil

Save some hassle and pull the whole rt. axle housing out...if you pull just the axle #1 its a bit** to pop out and #2 there's a thrust washer that may (will) drop, I think it's #9 in your pic...just use sillycone to put back together

Agreed that's what I'm doing.

This should not be hard at all with the silicone.

Throwing in my current situation:

2012 2500HD (build date of 10/11) with 19xxx miles. Just climbed under to do a quick once over and noticed both axle seals leaking gear oil :/ Not severe, as the front diff skid plate has little pooling on top of it. Probably happened in the last 1000 miles I am guessing.

No lift or suspension mods. Called the dealer, and they said they would set me up with a loaner while under service.

I am the type of person that would rather do this myself despite being a warranty item, but between work and kiddos, I really do not have the time to have the truck down in my own garage.

Will update after service.
